DoughBrownies, because doughnuts or brownies aren't enough!

Original Recipe on Food.com as "Vegan Brownies":

2 cups flour

1 cup water

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

3/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup nuts (optional) 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Original Directions:

Preheat oven at 350 degrees

Cook water and 1 cup of flour over low heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches a gluey paste consistency. Remove from the heat and let it cool. Mix sugar, salt, vanilla, cocoa powder, and vegetable oil, and then add the flour-water mixture. Mix well. Add the remaining 3 cups of flour, plus the baking powder and nuts/chocolate chips. Spread mixture in a greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until knife inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean.

Our Recipe as "DoughBrownies":

2 cups wheat flour

1 cup water

1/3 cup rice milk

1/2 cup dark chocolate (chocolate bar or chocolate chips) / cocoa powder mixture

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup coconut sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

Topping: 1 tablespoon dark chocolate

1 tablespoon peanut butter

Our Directions:

Preheat oven at 350 degrees

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl by hand or using a mixer (I prefer by hand with a fork). Mixture will turn into a dough ball formation. Grease a pan and spread the mixture accordingly. Drizzle peanut butter / dark chocolate mixture on top of the brownies. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-23 minutes, or until utensil inserted into center comes out clean. Check every 5 minutes. Let cool and ENJOY!

COOKING TIPS FROM ONE VEGAN TO ANOTHER

#1

Cocoa Powder and natural peanut butter is a Vegan cook's BEST FRIEND! The more the merrier, in most cases.

#2

Include oats when possible for a thicker texture and it can serve as a good source of fiber!

#3

Always taste test BEFORE cooking food, because with Vegan food it can sometimes be a bland taste that may need some extra seasoning to spice up the dish!
